About Us
The Pepper Pot Day Centre was established to offer a culturally sensitive and a uniquely appropriate service to the African and Caribbean elders and adults with special needs.
About Our Marketing Strategy
To fulfil the Pepper Pot Day Centre’s philosophy which aims to provide a comprehensive service for active and disabled older people, from the African and Caribbean community, in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, to enable them to live more independently in their own homes. The Pepper Pot Day Centre will utilise all available resources within the community to meet the socio-cultural, physical, emotional and psychological needs of African and Caribbean elders, ensuring that each individual enjoys a high quality of life.
It is important to realise that Pepper Pot Day Centre’s target market is aimed at the African and Caribbean elderly population in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, that Pepper Pot Day Centre services are divided into four segments, that each segment targets a different group of the target market as follows:
Segment |
Target Market |
Luncheon / Recreational Services |
Active Members |
Meals at home service |
Housebound Frail Members |
Day Care Services |
Frail and Disabled Members |
Drop in Service |
Active Older People |
In order to formulate an effective marketing strategy, we have to analyse the above four target markets separately. It is essential to determine market segmentation and service positioning, in relation to the services that the Pepper Pot Day Centre can provide. It is crucial to assess and understand the factors that are likely to influence members’ attendance to the club. That would help us to create and maintain an appropriate marketing mix.
Pepper Pot Day Centre’s Successful Service Attraction depends on the following variables:
- Easy to access location
- Comfortable and welcoming premises
- Clear positioning of services based on individual needs
- Emphasis on quality of services and overall efficiency
- Capturing new ideas and using members’ data
- Feedback from members and employees
- Close relations among staff
